Which database engines do you run?
MySQL and MariaDB on InnoDB, managed with phpMyAdmin.
Can I connect to my database from outside?
Yes. Remote database access is available as an option.
Is there an object cache in front of the database?
Yes. Redis serves as the object cache for WordPress, so repeated queries are answered from memory.
