Unlock the domain at your current registrar, ask it for the transfer code, and order the transfer here. A completed transfer adds one year to the registration.
Before you order
Unlock the domain
The domain must be unlocked at the registrar you are leaving. That step is yours, in their panel.
Get the transfer code
The transfer code, also called the EPP or auth code, is required. Your registrar must give it to you within five days of asking.
Keep the holder email working
Transfers are confirmed by email, so the address on the domain must reach you.
Allow five to seven days
The registry completes the transfer unless the registrar you are leaving objects within five calendar days.
What can move, and what cannot yet
A domain registered or transferred in the last 60 days cannot move: the registry holds it. Neither can a domain in redemption or waiting to be deleted. We check both before you pay, so a transfer that cannot succeed is never charged.
Your transfer code is stored encrypted, shown to no one but the person who sends the transfer, and erased the moment the transfer completes or fails.
What a transfer costs
A transfer costs the same as a year of registration for that ending, because it includes the year it adds. Endings without a price here cannot be transferred to us yet.

What you see after you pay
Your domain page in the account shows which stage the transfer has reached.
- Code checkWe read the code and check that the domain is unlocked and its contact can confirm.
- Sent to the registryThe transfer request has gone to the registry.
- Waiting for approvalThe registrar you are leaving has up to five calendar days to object; most transfers finish within five to seven days.
- CompleteThe domain is yours with us, with one year added to its registration.
- Failed, with the reasonA wrong code, a lock or a recent change stopped it. Send a new code from your domain page and it starts again from the code check.
Questions and answers
Where do I find the transfer code?
In the panel of the registrar you are leaving, often under the domain's security or transfer settings. If it is not there, ask the registrar: they must give it to you within five days.
Which domain endings can I transfer?
The endings with a price in the table above. They are the ones we register, and a transfer is ordered the same way for each.
Can I transfer a domain I registered last month?
Not yet. A domain cannot move for 60 days after it was registered or last transferred. We check this before you pay.
